Policy Statement on Human Rights

Arethia¹ is committed to respecting human rights as an integral part of responsible corporate conduct. We believe that economic activity and social responsibility are interconnected. Against this background, we consider it our duty to respect the dignity and fundamental rights of individuals, both within our own business operations and throughout our supply and value chains.

Our understanding of human rights responsibility is guided by internationally recognised frameworks. These include, in particular, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.

In the context of our business activities, we take into account fundamental labour and human rights issues, including:

- Fair and safe working conditions
- Respectful treatment of one anotherEqual treatment and prevention of discrimination and harassment
- Recognition of freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
- Prohibition of child labour as well as forced or compulsory labour
- Protection of health and safety in the workplace
- Promotion of adequate and fair remuneration structures, to the extent within our sphere of influence

To ensure that human rights and fundamental employee rights are respected within our own business operations, Arethia has established internal policies and principles. These serve as guidance for employees. We place great importance on our employees adhering to these rules as well as to the applicable legal requirements.

We also expect our suppliers and business partners to respect human rights principles and comply with applicable legal requirements. To support this expectation, Arethia has defined relevant behavioural principles in its Sustainable Procurement Policy, which serve as guidance for responsible collaboration.

The management of Arethia bears responsibility for the implementation and observance of this statement of principles.

We understand the respect for human rights as an ongoing process. We monitor relevant developments and periodically review whether adjustments to our principles or procedures are necessary. We inform our stakeholders of significant aspects in an appropriate manner.

We ensure that potential human rights risks or violations can be reported. Employees and external parties have access to a whistleblowing portal through which reports, including anonymous ones, can be submitted. The portal is available at: Whistleblowing-Portal. In addition, concerns can be raised via email to our dedicated ethics mailbox at: ethics@arethia.com

Arethia ensures that whistleblowers will not face retaliation in connection with submitting a report.

We carefully review any indications of potential violations and take appropriate steps to ensure the matter is properly investigated. If a human rights violation is identified within our business operations or at one of our business partners, we take timely measures to address and, where full remedy is not immediately possible, mitigate the impact of the violation.
